Why Replace a Window Handle?

Window handles fail for a number of reasons — the internal mechanism wears out, the fixing screws shear off, the handle becomes stiff or floppy, or the spindle snaps. A handle that doesn't operate correctly means the window won't lock properly, which is both a security issue and, on upper floors, a safety concern.

What I Replace

• Standard cockspur handles (older uPVC windows)
• Espagnolette / tilt-and-turn handles
• Locking window handles with key
• Timber sash window handles and fasteners

My Process

I'll measure the spindle size and fixing centres to source the correct replacement handle. If I don't have the exact match, I'll order it and return — usually next day. Fitting takes around 20 minutes per window.
